LEAD guitarist Naing Zaw of Lazy Club band will hold a solo instrumental
gig entitled “Thukhuma satyote” (Robotic musician)
at Happy World in Kandaw Mingalar Park from 12pm to 2pm on October
26.
Naing Zaw has organised the gig to showcase his guitar talents
in the hope of inspiring young musicians to pick up real instruments
rather than relying on computer software to create compositions.
The artist has released two instrumental albums: “Theikpan
khit ye tharkong myar” (The preys of the science age) and
“Myayout kagyo” (Underground dance).
“I want to see more and more instrumentalists in the music
industry and hope they will create great music with instruments.
I want people to enjoy instrumental music and I want to promote
people’s attention to it,” says Naing Zaw.
Naing Zaw says he will play the songs from his previously released
albums and also his upcoming album, which he plans to release
early next year.
“I’ll also perform some instrumentation of famous
international guitarists. I’ve also arranged some interesting
programs so people won’t get bored during the performance,”
he added.
Naing Zaw also says there will be special segments in which
he will work with the audience to create some original compositions.
“I will invite some audience members to each write down
a number from 1 to 7. Then, I play a music part by using these
randomly written numbers. I will also invite those who want to
sing and I will play for them.”
