VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

 

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Myanmar is a Geneva-based inter-governmental organisation with over 150 offices world-wide. IOM is currently implementing health and shelter reconstruction projects in the Nargis-affected areas, and is seeking adequately qualified professionals for its sub-offices in the Ayeyarwaddy Division:

Team Coordinator (1 post available in Bogale, Ayeyarwaddy division, SC7 Grade – VA/08/012)
The Team Coordinator will have operational responsibility for staff training, management of a small team of field assistants, coordination and monitoring of project activities, and project reporting. Requirements: University degree in development studies or public administration, or a related field. Minimum four years of experience in: Managing staff, Implementation of development projects, Staff training, and Monitoring and Evaluation of projects. Experience in and understanding of the post-Nargis response would be a significant advantage. Core competencies: Proven organisational skills, analytical and problem-solving ability, experience of liaison with counterpart authorities and project partners, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Good communication skills with fluency in both written and spoken English. Commitment, efficiency and flexibility.

Field Project Assistant (18 posts available in various townships, Ayeyarwaddy division, SC5 Grade – VA/08/013)
Field assistants will assist IOM with project implementation in various townships. Requirements: University degree. Minimum two years of experience in: Implementing development projects at the field level, Facilitating community participation, Liaising with counterpart authorities and project partners, and Report writing. Experience in post-Nargis projects would be an advantage. Well-developed sense of responsibility and strong commitment. Very good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
