The 6th Korean speech contest
The Korean Embassy will host the 6th Korean Speech Contest at
2:30pm on December 12 at Sedona Hotel (Grand Ballroom), Yangon.
The contest is open to entrants to haven’t been to Korea
before and who have passed level-4 or higher of the Test of Proficiency
in Korean (TOPIK). The registration period is from November 10
to November 19.
Twelve candidates from all the contestants will be selected for
the final contest. To choose these contestants a preliminary test
will be held on 22 November in Yangon and in Mandalay respectively.
The Speech Contest will be open to the public. The contestants
will have to show their proficiency in Korean on various subjects.
Application forms are available at the Korean Embassy in Yangon
and from Mr Park Chan Hi (a) Ma Ka Lya at the Korean Language
Department at Mandalay University of Foreign Languages.

3rd Indonesian Culinary and Culture Fair
Delicious Indonesian dishes will be served at La Brasserie International
Dinning Hall, Park Royal Hotel from November 14 to November 22.
The event has been organised by the Indonesia Embassy and visiting
Indonesian chefs in cooperation with Park Royal Hotel.
The aim of the fair is to show people the real taste of Indonesian
food and drink. Exciting dishes which are popular in Indonesia
will be prepared by Indonesian chefs and cooks from hotel. A buffet
lunch costing US$12 or buffet dinner at U$16 will include a number
of traditional dishes.
A dance group will also perform on November 19 and on the closing
day November 22.
Indian dance contest
An Indian dance contest will be held at 21st Century Shopping
Centre on December 14. If you’re interested in Indian dancing
and traditional dress pick up an application form available at
21st Century Shopping Centre. Dance groups from Hindu temples
throughout Yangon will also perform traditional dance. Admission
is free.
17th European Film festival
Naypyidaw cinema in Yangon is hosting the 17th European Film
festival from November 15 to 22.
The festival will feature eight movies, two each from Germany,
France, Italy and Britain, said the spokesperson of the German
Embassy during the press conference held on October 27.
The English subtitled films will be screened at 3.30pm and 6.30pm.
Many of the films are rapidly booking up but remaining tickets
can be had from the German Embassy, Alliance Francaise, Italian
Embassy and British Council.
