Thousands flocked to the capital of southern Shan State for the traditional Pa-O festival, which aims to destroy evil through the offering of money, robes and goods to Buddhist monks.

A LOCAL Wainayyathukha Yaichansin charity group donated K3.6 million worth of bottled drinking water to pilgrims who visited Shwedagon Pagoda on the full moon day of Tazaungdine last Wednesday.
 
“We have already fixed much of the storm damage but there are still many parts of the museum in need of repair. The donation from the Thai-Myanmar Association and well-wishers from Thailand is of great help to us,”
 
THE Myanmar Marketing Committee (MMC) is organising a cultural festival and night bazaar at Sunset Garden restaurant in Bagan from November 28 to 30, said Daw Su Su Tin, the chairperson of the committee.
