‘Mythical Antelopes’ solo exhibition

Artist Sandy will hold her second solo exhibition entitled “Mythical Antelopes and old spirit Ogres from ancient Rakhine” from December 1 to December 7 at New Zero Art Space, No-54, 1/E, Bo Yar Nyunt Street, Dagon.
“I paid a visit to ancient Rakhine in Mrauk Oo city in April 2007. The walls of the pagodas are richly embossed with figures of mythical antelopes and ogres, which caught my interest,” Ma Sandy said.
“The figures on the wall inspired me to paint 25 canvases on acrylic, one of those is an ogre painting and the rest are mythical antelopes,” she adds.

Japanese Embassy film screening

The Embassy of Japan will be screening a film entitled “Waiting for you, Akira” directed by Fujii Katsuhiko at the Assembly Hall of the Embassy on December 18 and 19 at 2.30pm. Tickets for the screening will be available from December 10 up until the day of the event (during 9am to 12:30pm and 1:30pm to 5:30pm) at the Embassy of Japan. One ticket is for one person only. Seats are limited so get tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Rock and hip hop music event

Bo Bo entertainment will hold a musical event featuring a number of well-known by hip hop and rock stars together on December 25 at Inya Lake hotel. The concert will start at 4pm with hip hop stars Sai Sai Kham Hlaing, J me, Ye Lay and Jouk Jack performing. Rock stars R Zarni, He Lay, Han Tun and L Sai Ze will appear at 7pm. Tickets are K5000 each and are available at Uncle Sam, Nobody (Dagon, Yankin, FMI, BAK), Conqueror (Lapyae Wunn) and Capital. Seats are also available.

Artist Myint Khine’s first solo show

45 works of art by artist Myint Khine will be exhibited from November 16 to December 16 at New Treasure art gallery at No.84/A Thanlwin Road, Golden Valley (2) block, Bahan Township.

Group art exhibition at New Treasure

New Treasure art gallery opened its door for its 3rd group exhibition on November 16. There exhibition features the work of 100 artists with 266 paintings on display The exhibition will run for three months.
