U Pe Khin's photo show

Cherry Thein

AN exhibition of photographs by U Pe Khin was held at Thamada Hotel in Dagon township, from November 28 to 30.

The exhibit featured more than 40 photographs by U Pe Khin, 78, a member of the Myanmar Photographic Society.

“I am old now. I want to share my work with others before it’s too late,” he said.
He said the show – his first in 58 years as a member of the society – was also aimed at sharing the techniques he has perfected over the years with younger colleagues interested in photography.

“When I was starting out, there were no classes to teach photography. We had to study photos in magazine and learn from colleagues.

“But I’m happy to see that there are more classes now, as well as artists willing to share what they know with younger people.”
