Rubber products course scheduled for this month

By Cherry Thein

THE Centre for Rubber Products under the Myanma Perennial Crops Enterprise of the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation will offer a three-week training course starting on December 22 on producing rubber products using domestic smoked rubber.

Major Tin Win (Retired), the manager of research, technology and training at the centre, said the objective of the course was to teach rubber tree growers how to produce high-quality rubber products in preparation for the government’s plan to increase domestic rubber production.

Trainees will learn theoretical and practical aspects of producing car spare parts and other products from smoked rubber, he said, adding that 30 trainees will be accepted into the course.

“This program will teach rubber tree growers how to make these products using raw materials from their own plantations,” Maj Tin Win said.

Anyone interested in the course can get more information by calling 666-024 or visiting the centre at 31 Kaba Aye Pagoda Road in Yangon.
