New albums from Yadanar Myaing
Yadanar Myaing Music Production has recently released three new
albums: “Ein Mat Saung” (Dreamy Winter), “Law
Ka Gyi Ka Ayesay Pae” (Life is Easy) and “A Myat Noe
Sone Minn” (You are the most Adorable).
“Ein Mat Saung” is the pop album of four new singers:
Chawl, Naing Lin, Thawzin and Min Set Paing, featuring Nightingale.
The album includes covers of Japanese songs and ballads.
Chit Thu Wai film to screen January
“Nge Thu Hmoe Ma Thi Par” (Not Mature because I’m
Young) directed by Ei Ei Khine will be screened at the end of
January. The film stars Lu Min, Chit Thu Wai, Christina and many
other performers.
Singer Chit Thu Wai performs the role of a teenage girl ‘Jittu’,
which is suited with her cute appearance. It’s her first
film.
Studio 35 offers basic course in film
Studio 35 is running a basic course covering five subjects: directing,
script writing, cinema photography, acting and editing. Academy
winning artists and professionals will teach on the three month
long course, which is priced at K150,000 per student.

Book of poetry published
Mg Myo (Two Cats) Publishing House has released a book of poetry
entitled “Myit Kyin Thone Khu” (Three River Canyons).
The book features three poets: Sann Thidar, Manorhary and Ae Htet.
The price of the book is K1000 and it is available at most bookshops
and supermarkets.
Nyein Chan Su to hold exhibition
Artist Nyein Chan Su will exhibit his works of contemporary art
from January 9 to 11 at New Zero Art Space in Dagon township.
The exhibition titled “The Real & The Mythical Vol:2”
is the tenth solo exhibition held by the artist, who is also active
in creating installation art.
Artist Aung Naing Maung to exhibit
Artist Aung Naing Maung will be holding an exhibition of up to
30 contemporary paintings at the Pansodan Gallery. The exhibition
will run from January 10-19 and is open from 10am to 6pm daily.
The Pansodan Gallery can be found at No. 286, first floor, Pansodan
Rd, Kyauktada Township, Yangon.
Japanese film festival
With the collaboration of the Japan Foundation, the Embassy of
Japan will hold a film festival from January 18 to 21 in Yangon
and January 23 to 26 in Mandalay.
Four films will be screened at the festival: “Nabbie’s
Love”, “Water Boys”, “Linda Linda Linda”
and “Ping Pong Bath Station”. In Yangon, the films
will be screened at Thamada cinema and in Mandalay at WinLite
cinema.
The festival is one of the activities of the Japan-Mekong Exchange
Year 2009, which is aiming to expand exchanges between Japan and
the Mekong region.
Tickets will be available at the cinemas from 4:30pm on the day
of each screening. Tickets are limited. The films start at 6:30pm.
