Ngapali hotels woo guests with package deals

By Pan Eiswe Star
Low prices and beautiful scenery make Ngapali an attractive holiday destination.

SEVERAL hotels at Ngapali Beach have unveiled special travel package deals aimed at attracting locals and expatriates to the coastline of Rakhine State in the coming months.

Amazing Ngapali Resort is offering a three-day/two-night package available from this month through the end of April, priced at US$225 a person for foreign residents and K219,000 for locals.

A special rate for groups of 10 or more people is also available, for K195,000 a person for locals and $215 for expatriates.

The package includes roundtrip airfare, two nights of twin shared accommodation in a deluxe sea-view villa, international or traditional daily breakfast, airport transfer, fruit tray, and hat and shell necklace gifts.

“We can also arrange a half-day boat trip to Pearl Island for snorkelling and fishing, priced at K40,000 for a maximum of six people,” said Daw Ngu Wah Aung, the senior sales executive at Amazing Holidays.

Aureum Resort and Spa in Ngapali is offering three-day/two-night travel deals until April 10, priced at $265 a person for foreign residents and $245 for locals, said Daw Aye Thandar, the sales office manager at the resort’s Yangon office.

“The package includes roundtrip airfare, accommodation in a twin shared room in a garden view cottage, daily breakfast and two dinners, and airport transfer,” she said.

Ngapali Beach Hotel is offering packages aimed at attracting couples, families and groups of locals and expatriates, effective until the end of March.

The three-day/two-night specials range in price from $170 to $190 a person for expatriates, and K170,000 to K190,000 for locals, depending on the room category. The price includes roundtrip airfare, two nights of accommodation in a twin shared room, daily breakfast and airport transfer.

Ngapali Beach Hotel is also planning to offer special packages during the Thingyan water festival in April, but a spokesperson from the hotel said the details have not yet been confirmed.

Amata Resort and Spa will also offer four-day/three-night packages for locals during Thingyan, priced per person at K463,000 for a single room and K320,000 for a twin shared room. The package includes roundtrip airfare, deluxe room accommodation, airport transfer, and daily breakfast, daily lunch and dinner.

“According to our experiences in previous years, we found that some people were unable to come to Ngapali during Thingyan due to an insufficient number of flights,” said Ma Honey, Amata’s sales and marketing executive.

“So this year we will provide a charter flight for guests who are heading to Ngapali for our Thingyan package,” she said.

Guests who take advantage of this deal can also get discounts of 10 percent for spa services, 15pc for laundry service and 15pc on food and beverages at the resort.

Amata is also offering a three-day/two-night anniversary package until the end of May. The price is $196 to $276 a person for foreign residents and K190,000 to K274,000 for locals, depending on the room type.
