MYANMAR’S IT industry could benefit from the ongoing world recession, some industry sources say, as overseas jobs dry up and less computer professionals head abroad to take up higher-paying jobs.
YANGON – Myanmar has banned the export of crocodiles to foreign countries to protect them from extinction, the Ministry of Livestock Breeding and Fisheries said on February 16.
“The monsoon paddy harvest in Mandalay Division for the fiscal year 2008-09 has decreased compared with more than 80.7 million baskets in last year’s harvest due to the unfavourable weather conditions in Mandalay Division,”
“Fish farming is one of the most important sectors of the economy and it’s important to produce good-quality products and increase productivity,”
 
“It’s important that out products be high-quality, clean and chemical free in order to attract customers. That’s why we’re introducing the GAP system,” said U Khin Ko Lay, deputy director general of the DOF.
 
“No developer or developers have returned any projects to the committee in late 2008 or early 2009. We have seven big projects with the developers and three have already been finished,”
