THE Malaysia-based Sanbumi Air Transport company has launched
a temporary charter flight service between Yangon and Kuala Lumpur,
effective from February 5.
“The Yangon-Kuala Lumpur charter service will be offered
for six months using an F100 Fokker aircraft leased from Air Bagan
Limited,” said U Hla Aye, the managing director of Shan
Yoma Travel and Tours, one of the authorised ticketing agents
for the flights.
He said the roundtrip fare is US$350 for a 14-day ticket and
$380 for a one-month ticket, while the one-way fare is $235. A
special one-way rate of $207 is offered for labour passengers
who are travelling to Malaysia in groups of 10 or more workers.
The flights are offered every Thursday and Sunday, leaving Yangon
at 14:15 and arriving in Kuala Lumpur at 18:40. The return leg
departs Kuala Lumpur at 19:40 and touches down in Yangon at 21:05.
