“We’re very proud of holding two such international conferences here. As of February 23, representatives from 18 countries in Europe and Asia have confirmed they will attend, and four are left to be confirmed: Hungary, Austria, Japan and Bangladesh,”

The foreign exchange pool functions as an emergency credit line for Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and will be created with assistance from China, Japan and South Korea.

“Four fire cases occurred in Mandalay Division while refuelling, one on February 9 in Mya Nandar ward, one in Pyi Oo Lwin township on February 14, one in Pyi Gyi Tagon on February 20 and one in Chan Mya Thar Si township on February 23,”

“Because there is more demand for porters, we have also been able to charge people less. Before we would ask for at least K12,000 because we might only have one customer for the day. A palanquin now costs K8000 one way but sometimes the customers can negotiate for less. Most don’t mind having to pay porters and often give more than K8000.”
“If they receive the correct stimulation, they can have almost normal development, which in most cases can be done by teaching the parents, but most parents don’t know and just assume that this is how their children are going to be,”

Well, I don’t see it as unusual that some ASEAN members may be reluctant, or may interpret the words of the charter differently. It’s really up to the people. My hope is that they will make a contribution and they will drive the organisation onward. Perhaps bit by bit, perhaps slowly. But the space is there. Seize it.

“We have prepared for all the tasks to make the festival splendid. Car parking is arranged for thousand of vehicles and higher-standard restrooms are available for guests,”

“Bangkok is a major gateway for tourist arrivals to Myanmar. If we participate in more international travel fairs in cooperation with our neighbour Thailand, it would help attract more visitors to Myanmar as well,”

“When he worked at Hmawbi, he visited nearby forests and took photos of rare species of birds, butterflies and trees, as well as the lifestyles of local people,”

“The program group will be led by the chairman of the Myanmar Fish Farmers’ Association and helped by the executive members from different divisions and members from those towns-hips,”

Crude oil prices have dropped to K30,000 for one 50-gallon barrel in early February from K150,000 when oil prices reached record international highs in July 2008, said one digger who works 20 oil wells in Minhla township in Magwe Division.
U Ko Gyi, the president of the Mandalay Cooking Oil Traders’ Association, said that prices last year in October were K3800 for peanut oil and K3000 for palm oil. At the same time the international prices of palm oil has fallen to US$600 a tonne from record highs of about $900 in September 2007.

One downside to the combined space is the kitchen, which is nominally separated from the rest of the space by a glass dividing wall that probably seemed an ingenious idea during planning but fails in the flesh. And the space is now cramped but does offer sufficient cooking space and storage.

“This means everything at Governor’s Residence is very fresh. For example, I work a lot with Ngapali fish, I get them sent to the restaurant every week. Maybe 70 percent of sales here are fish or seafood and you have a huge variety — red snapper, sea bass, grouper, river prawns, tiger prawns, fresh squid — it also depends what I can find in the market.”

“The second obstacle was Myanmar girls were not used to wearing high heels and there were no quality high heels at that time. So, we had to buy in Singapore and import them,”

Home Affairs captain Sithu Win had the best chance of the match when he found himself one-on-one with YCDC keeper Hein Kyaw Thu in the 85th minute but couldn’t find the back of the net.
