“We did not study stomach contents, but we know that its close relatives live on small crustaceans … and other small invertebrates,” Britz said in an email to National Geographic News. “In captivity it readily accepts brine shrimp [larvae], tiny nematodes, and even very fine flake food.”
 
“We still didn’t have quite enough accommodation for pilgrims. Some just spent the night walking around because they didn’t have anywhere to stay. But it wasn’t as bad as last year, when we had people sleeping on the road, almost up to the walkway to the pagoda,”
 
“and will often visit early in the morning, so it makes sense for them to stay near the pagoda. We have many pilgrims from Thailand, in particular, and they often come in big groups and book out 15 or 20 rooms.”
 
“Repairs of the pagoda’s lotus flower structure are finished but the final decorative touches on the structure are taking more time than expected because the artists also want to make it look beautiful,”
“The problem in Phuket was that many hotels were booked by tourists and therefore the available rooms were scattered around. We are trying to use only one hotel, for security reasons,”

U Maung Maung Oo, the headquarters inspector (volunteer) of the School Red Cross, said 35 students from more than 25 Red Cross member schools in Yangon Division and Rakhine State were chosen to participate in the camp.

But now that our external orders are falling we cannot afford the extra cost of diesel, so we’re only running our factories when the electricity is on,”
 

The kitchen and dining room are also at the back of the house and could best be described as “functional”. There are white floor and wall tiles and the room is bright and clean. Nearby there is a toilet, the garage and a laundry of sorts.
 
This year the exhibition didn’t just feature the works of famous artists, but also many works by new and upcoming artists. Among the fresh faces was 21-year–old artist Wah Wah Aye Kyaw. Here’s what she had to say about her art
 
“Some locals who don’t know much about sushi will start with the barbecue and grill, often they will not touch the sushi or sashimi… slowly [they will] be more adventurous and start with the mayonnaise sushi and so on,”
In the Men’s Junior Davis Cup round that featured Bahrain, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Uzbekistan, it was Uzbekistan who triumphed, with Pakistan placing second and Myanmar third. Myanmar’s side included Aung Kyaw Naing, Tin Myo Wai and Aung Kyaw Oo. Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Myanmar all advanced to the Asia/Oceania qualifying round for the Junior Davis Cup to be played in Australia in April 2009.
