German embassy to hold evening of Baroque chamber music
The German embassy has organised an evening of Baroque chamber music with TRIOthlon which blends the sounds of a flute with two violins. TRIOthlon is characterised by a combination of powerful individual potential and a passionate collaboration that is the hallmark of an exceptional chamber music ensemble, according to the event’s press release. Flutist Anton Isselhardt and violinists Markus Gundermann and Alexandru Radu will perform. The event will be held on May 19 at 7pm at Inya Lake hotel, 37 Kaba Aye Pagoda Road. Free entry.
Bridal fair at Traders hotel
Fashion models from Talents and Models Agency will show off wedding dresses at a bridal fair to be held at Traders Hotel on June 6 from 9am to 5pm. They will dress in a variety of contemporary and conventional designs inspired by Myanmar traditional dress and European clothes.
Film screening at Nay Pyi Daw cinema
An exciting drama film entitled “The International”, has been screening at Nay Pyi Daw cinema from May 1. The film stars Clive Owen, Naomi Watts (who starred in King Kong). “The International” is directed by Tom Tykwer who made “Perfume” and “Heaven”.
Chinese tea with dim-sum at Traders

Comic serial to hit screens soon
For comic movie buffs, a new comic serial directed by Ye Win Ni will begin screening soon. The serial is being shown on the state-run Myawady channel every Friday at 5.30pm. The serial will feature many famous comedians including King Kong, Nhat Pyaw Kyaw and others.
2009 music extravaganza
Bo Bo Entertainment in cooperation with Alpine drinking water has organised a hip hop and rock concert to be held on May 23 from 4pm to 10pm at Inya Lake hotel.
The event will feature many famous singers including Sai Sai Kham Leng, J-Me, R Zarni and L Sai Ze. Tickets are K5000 each, available at Conqueror (La Pyae Wunn), Nobody and Uncle Sam (FMI, Dagon, Yankin and Dagon Centre and BAK centre).
