WHITE, it seems, is right in regards to this three-storey, four-bedroom house in South Okkalapa township.

It’s a defining theme both within and without the house, which sits in a lane just off the busy Yananar Road in South Okkalapa. The large house fits snugly within the 3200-square-foot block and previous owners have opted for maintenance-free concrete instead of yard.

On the upside there’s plenty of carparking but the downside is no garden.

And the house itself rather unflatteringly resembles a three-high stack of boxes, largely devoid of the architectural flair that might be expected from a K1350 million house.

As white as the exterior paint is, nothing could prepare you for the almost blinding polar white that covers the walls, ceilings and some furnishings on the interior.

The living room is particularly white. And bright. Indeed, the sofas, air-conditioner, fan and coffee table are all the same piercing white, which makes the carved wooden orname-nts that line the back wall all the more engaging but it’s surely a divisive room – you’ll either love it or loath it.

Behind the living room is the dining room that comes with a thigh-high walled entrance and some enchanting – and white, of course – lanterns.

Alongside sits the kitchen that simply oozes cleanliness and neatness. Aiding this orderliness is a set of drawers with slats cut into them to neatly stack and stash dishes.

There are also three bedrooms downstairs, although two have been turned into offices.

The middle storey houses the master bedroom that comes with a comfortable ensuite bathroom. At the front of the floor there’s a shrine room with direct access to the front balcony.

Upstairs there is a small gymnasium and another balcony.

The house is fed by both tube well and government water supply. And there is one electricity meter, seven air-conditioners and one telephone line included in the sale price.
