TWO foreign journalists have been invited to teach a three-week journalism course organised by the Myanmar Writers and Journalists Association, to familiarise students with foreign journalism techniques.

With the help of the American Center and the German organisation Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Mr Doug Cosper, an instructor at the School of Journalism and Mass Communications at the University of Colorado, will lecture on news writing, and Mr Bjorn Richtet, a veteran journalist working for a newspaper in Singapore, will lecture on feature writing.

A journalist who took a similar course earlier this year said it had made her more aware of the print media industry as a whole.

“As foreign journalists and correspondents joined the training, they shared their experience, which was very helpful for us,” she said.

The course lasts from June 30 to August 14.
