VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - Program Assistant

The European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO), funds relief operations for victims of natural disasters and conflicts outside the European Union. For humanitarian aid, the Commission works with about 200 operational partners, including United Nations agencies, the Red Cross/Crescent movement and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). Aid is channelled impartially, straight to victims, regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, age, nationality or political affiliation. The incumbent would provide support in assessing humanitarian situation; in monitoring ECHO funded projects and analysing ECHO funded project’s implementation.

The ECHO Country Office based in Yangon, Myanmar requires one Program Assistant for an initial period of one year.

The following requirements must be fulfilled by the candidate:

- Good writing and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge in Project Cycle Management (PCM)
- Minimum University degree
- At least 5 years practical experience in an equivalent position
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Myanmar is essential with ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Familiar with an international working environment, preferably with international humanitarian organizations
- Ability to travel intensively in country.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team.

Post 1: Secretary
Qualification Required:

- University degree with at least three years experience in secretarial job, oil and gas field experience will be advantage.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English language
- Oral communication in Chinese language will be an advantage.
- Good Computer skills on all common Microsoft Applications.

Post 2: Cash Accountant
Qualification Required:

- University degree in related field or equivalent qualification on Accounting or Economic.
- At lease one year of accounting experience such as cash and bank transaction.
- Good written and oral communication in English language.
- Attention to detail, Female will be an advantage.
