The European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid department (ECHO), funds relief operations for victims of natural disasters and conflicts outside the European Union. For humanitarian aid, the Commission works with about 200 operational partners, including United Nations agencies, the Red Cross/Crescent movement and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs). Aid is channelled impartially, straight to victims, regardless of their race, ethnic group, religion, gender, age, nationality or political affiliation. The incumbent would provide support in assessing humanitarian situation; in monitoring ECHO funded projects and analysing ECHO funded project’s implementation.
The ECHO Country Office based in Yangon, Myanmar requires one Program Assistant for an initial period of one year.
The following requirements must be fulfilled by the candidate:
- Good writing and analytical skills.
- Good knowledge in Project Cycle Management (PCM)
- Minimum University degree
- At least 5 years practical experience in an equivalent position
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Myanmar is essential with ability to write clearly and concisely.
- Familiar with an international working environment, preferably with international humanitarian organizations
- Ability to travel intensively in country.
- Ability to work efficiently in a team.
