“At first we considered substituting the wood-sculpted floral designs for another material but the Department of Archaeology told us to only use wood in order to maintain the original style.”

“According to my bird-watching experience, there are more birds around in the winter. As the first trip, we will go to Ayeyarwady Division and then to Bagan and the vicinity of Myitkyina, and also along the Ayeyarwady River. We don’t expect to discover any new species, but we do look forward to bird-watching in the wetlands.”

“Some criteria established by homes for the elderly could result in some older persons becoming more vulnerable. These criteria limit the number of people receiving care, or state that they must be free from infectious diseases and psychological problems and so on,”
“Getting an award is not important. It’s just really fun to run and reach the end of the course. And we’re contributing to the development of the Myanmar tourism industry,”

“Although this is a local brand, the product is made in Taiwan and has comparable specifications to many of the other international brands on show here. I think we’re able to compete quite strongly on price,”

“We plan to perform with a live traditional orchestra (saing waing) because it is more appealing than recorded music. I want the audience to enjoy the full experience of seeing a marionette show with an orchestra.”

“Traditional medicine is very effective in curing chronic diseases such as diabetes, rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, stroke, paralysis, motor paralysis, malaria, and menstrual disorders,”

Bookings for the season indicated an average occupancy rate of 70pc, up from an average of 50pc over the same period last year, said Daw Su Su Mon.

Participants will include All Asia Exclusive Travel, Ayeyarwady Legend Travel, Grand Lotus, Moby Dick Adventures, Tour Mandalay, Uniteam Travel, Myanmar Polestar Travels and Tours, Myanmar Tourism Services, Sandoway Resort, KMA Hotels and Myanmar Airways International.

“I’m planning to make another plastic digester to produce energy for the evaporated cooling system using cooling pads. I also will be clearing my backyard to plant corn irrigated by waste water emitted during the biogas production,”

“The price of gold will not decrease within three months. Our domestic gold price varies according to the world’s price, which depends on demand and exchange rates. But keeping prices stable makes life easier for goldsmiths and jewellers,”

“For the moment, most local manufacturers have not implemented this directive because they produce more mini-trucks and buses than jeeps in order to meet market demand,”

BAHAN is a nice township and would likely feature on many people’s list of places they’d like to live in Yangon. This apartment, on the third floor of Thakatho Yeikmon Condo on Thakatho Yeikthar Road, provides that opportunity, with a couple of caveats.

“There was a common feeling between us because we face the same problems. I received a great deal of support from him, and he too from me … He left the school and started earning money by giving massage and when he could stand on his own two feet we got married,”

“We hope that we can bring the history of China, Chinese culture, its writers and present day Chinese culture closer for Germany and representatives from other countries,”

“We believe Myanmar players have good performance enough to win especially in Endurance event. We have emphasized on caring the horses, not to suffer injury while carrying them to Thailand. We will stop carrying horses for a while in Mawlamyaing and then continue to Thailand not to suffer injury for our horses,”

Players at last week’s competition, which featured participants from Kyeemyindaing School for the Blind, Khawechan School for the Blind and members of the Myanmar Blind Association, are confident the game can find a larger audience in the future.

“I am satisfied with my players’ efforts because the opponents were taller and generally had better football skills. My players did well not to concede too many goals,”
