DON’T judge a book by its cover. At least that’s what the current owners of this house in Thingangyun township will be hoping that potential buyers will be thinking.
Located in the May Kha housing complex, just of Lay Daunt Kan Road, the house fails to put its best foot forward, with a mouldy and somewhat bedraggled exterior.
And yet there is 3600 square feet of living space contained within, while K120 million is not a huge sum of money for a house that could easily fit a small family. And it’s not far from the downtown area.
Another plus is the simplicity of the layout: There is a drive-in garage downstairs, with the front door only a couple of steps away.
Naturally enough you then step into the living room, which could easily handle some new carpet and from there move on to the simple kitchen and dining room. There is a common bathroom attached to the kitchen.
Alongside the living room is a room that could easily be a bedroom or study.
Upstairs enjoys parquet flooring and includes a living room and three bedrooms – an ensuite master bedroom complete with a largely superficial balcony and two singles that share a common bathroom.
Room has also been apportioned to a narrow shrine room alongside the master bedroom.
There are some flaws in the design though – the house is one in a line of three and both light and airflow, as such, are limited, which means any buyer will be relying heavily on electricity for these.
This house is five years old and comes with a 60-year lease, five air-conditioners and one electricity meter. Government mains water feeds the house’s water needs.
