| Myanmar picked up two awards for its displays at the recent CAEXPO in Nanning, China. |
AGAINST tough international competition, Myanmar won two top awards at last month’s China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) trade fair, in Nanning, China.
The design of Myanmar’s national pavilion took the prizes for “best exhibition award”, and the arrangements made to ensure the participation of about 300 exhibition staff won it the “best trade visitor organiser award” after the expo, which took place from October 20 to 24.
At the exhibition, which features China and the 10 ASEAN countries, Myanmar showcased the border town of Muse as the “city of charm”.
“The design of the pavilion was modelled on the X-ray machine that containers and trucks have to pass through,” said U Tun Aung, central executive committee member of Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Other national participants also featured their cities, including China’s Shenzhen and Laos’s Savannakhet, while Laos, Thailand, Brunei and Cambodia enlivened their pavilions with traditional dancers and sculptures.
