WITH beige and white walls, numerous balconies and inlaid stone segments using a greenish varnish – this house, or rather houses, in Bahan township doesn’t exactly put its best foot forward, which is a shame because there’s a lot to offer.

Just off West Shwegondaing Road on Oat Street, it sits inside a 4500 square foot compound and includes two houses linked, interestingly, by a balcony. The location is good and the price for that location seems excellent at K290 million.

The main house has about 3200 square feet and contains three bedrooms; outside the house there is a concreted parking area and a small green lawn overhung by a pine tree.

Inside, the living room and dining room are combined and benefit from a number of doors and windows that allow both light and air to flood in.

There is also a modest single bedroom, a bathroom complete with bathtub and a decently sized kitchen. The whole lower level is floored with reddy-brown tiles and most of the rooms have ornate wooden ceilings. Less attractive is the choice of wall colours – light green – but that’s a matter of taste.

The upper level includes two similarly sized bedrooms, a common bathroom and a large living space, all of which have wooded flooring.

There’s also the previously mentioned balcony that connects with the second, and smaller, house.

Each level is about 600 square feet, with the upper level more or less given over to a bedroom and bathroom. Downstairs there is a bathroom and a living room. The property comes with a 60-year lease and comes with seven air-conditioners, two electricity meters and one telephone line as well.
