IF you feel like telling the world that perhaps, ‘I’m kind of a big deal’, then this house in Thingangyun is probably for you. It has all the status symbols required to let other people know that you mean business.

There’s a plethora of pillars of different sizes, a fear-inspiring fence topped with razor wire to keep out the unwashed masses, and seemingly acres of balcony space.

The house is within the Eiksietan housing project, just off the the busy Waizayandar Road.

It’s a corner block too and benefits from two separate driveways and – of course – allows people passing by to view your awesomeness from a wholly separate angle.

The five-year-old house takes up most of the 4120 square foot compound, with the remainder soaked up by driveways and a pebble garden. Each floor of the interior measures about 3000 square feet, and the lower level also has a built-in garage.

The interior seems to match the exterior for showiness, with a large curved staircase winding its way from alongside the front door all the way up to the second floor. The staircase is supported by fat pillars, and there is even a small water feature underneath as well.

Another feature of the downstairs floor is the dining room with its overly dramatic walls. The living room, which only sports downward hanging lights and a curved wall with in-built glass blocks, looks boring in comparison.

Letting the side down somewhat is the kitchen, which is merely businesslike and lacks the grandiose design flourishes seen elsewhere.

Upstairs there are three large bedrooms: One ensuite master, an ensuite double and one ensuite single. The master bedroom and double bedroom have their own balconies, with the third accessible from near the landing.

Three air-conditioners, one electricity meter and one telephone are included in the rental price, which uses both tube well and government mains water.
