The police have seized control of and closed off the Mandalay regional office of the National League for Democracy (NLD).
Those present in the building - located at 62nd street, between 33rd and 34th street - were forced out on the night of February 1.
Sources with ties to the NLD said that the police have restricted the area and are currently conducting searches in the office.
Military and police battalions have also taken control of the offices of the Mandalay Region Government and the Mandalay City Development Committee, as well as the residences of various cabinet ministers.
The Tatmadaw on February 1 detained the country's president, U Win Myint, and State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, along with other senior figures from the ruling party in response to alleged poll fraud by the Union Election Commission.
The Myanmar armed forces has since declared a year-long state of emergency with Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services Min Aung Hlaing now in power.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Myo Thit and Mandalay Mayor U Ye Lwin were released later that day.
Those with party ties, however, said they were unsure of the current situation of the other detained members which include senior government officials and representatives of regional parliament.
As of press time, the Mandalay chief minister is under house arrest and Sagaing Chief Minister U Myint Naing is held at the Hluttaw compound, according to a member of NLD's information committee. - Translated
